Influence of compressor lubricating oil on performance of evaporators DL, DD and DJ and condensers FNH, FNV and FNVT.

Lubricating oil is indispensable for refrigeration compressor, but a small part of it circulates in the whole circuit with refrigerant. If the oil cannot be returned to the compressor correctly, it will be deposited in the evaporators DL, DD and DJ and the condensers FNH, FNH,FNV,FNVT, reducing their heat exchange capacity.

When a thin layer of oil adheres to the inner wall of copper tube, it will produce additional heat transfer resistance. Although the equipment looks in good condition externally, its actual performance is gradually declining. The greater the thickness of oil layer, the greater the loss of cooling capacity.

The refrigeration system is designed to ensure that the oil returns to the compressor oil tank. It depends on the flow rate of refrigerant in the suction pipe. In facilities that often work at very low part load, the circulation speed decreases and oil tends to deposit in the exchanger.

In evaporators DL, DD and DJ with large diameter pipes, if the circulation speed is low, the risk of oil accumulation will be higher. The accumulation of internal oil reduces the cooling capacity, increases the outlet temperature of steam, and changes the superheat value measured in the facility.

In FNH, FNH,FNV,FNVT condensers, the oil film in the inner tube makes it difficult to discharge the condensation heat. Therefore, there is no obvious reason why the condensation pressure increases and the power consumption of the compressor increases.

Only the oil type and viscosity specified by the compressor manufacturer must be used. Incompatible oil will produce sludge, block filters and oil separators, and aggravate the accumulation problem in evaporators and condensers.

Oil separator is a key component in large equipment. It retains most of the oil discharged from the compressor and returns it directly to the oil tank, thus reducing the circulation through the rest of the cooling circuit. It will not eliminate 100% deposits, but it will significantly reduce the deposits on the exchange.

A large amount of oil accumulation in the evaporator cannot be solved by external cleaning. It requires specific intervention in the cooling circuit to recover oil or internally clean the heat exchanger.

FAQ
What effect will the oil deposited in the evaporator and condenser pipes have? An insulating layer is formed to reduce the heat transfer efficiency.
Why is the oil stored in the oil changer at low part load? Circulating coolant at a low speed will not drag the oil back to the compressor.
What is the function of oil separator? It retains most of the compressor oil so as not to circulate through the evaporator and condenser.
Is cleaning only the outside a solution to the problem of internal reservoirs? No, the oil is in the pipeline and needs to be treated by the cooling circuit.
What are the risks of using oil not recommended by compressor manufacturers? Formation and blockage of sludge and deterioration of accumulation in exchanger.
