Advantages and application fields of stainless steel shell condenser
FNH,FNV and FNVT capacitors with stainless steel casing are special variants of very harsh environment, in which atmospheric corrosion will rapidly deteriorate the standard galvanized sheet casing.
Galvanized sheet is a common solution for standard projects. It works normally in the normal continental atmosphere, but in coastal saline-alkali land, food processing plants or chemical steam industry, oxides appear in the shell within 2-4 years. Corrosion may further pierce the supporting structure of the equipment.
The stainless steel casing avoids the deterioration of this structure. It should not be confused with the anti-corrosion treatment of heat exchange coils: one protects the external structure and the other protects the internal pipes and fins. In order to obtain maximum durability in very harsh environment, it is suggested to combine stainless steel shell with coil anti-corrosion treatment.
According to xindacool's data, in coastal areas, the structural life of the capacitor is 3.2 times longer than that of the galvanized version. Its main disadvantage is that the investment cost is as high as 26% to 34%.
Not all stainless steels have the same properties. For marine environment, it is recommended to use at least AISI 304; AISI 316 is necessary in the environment with corrosive chemical vapor. Using unsuitable stainless steel continues to produce surface corrosion spots.
The thermal performance of the capacitor will not change when the stainless steel case is selected. The shell only has structural and protective functions and does not participate in heat exchange. Therefore, the pairing calculation with DL,DD and DJ coolers is exactly the same as the standard model.
Ideal application areas: facilities less than 3 kilometers away from the sea, fishing grounds, meat processing plants, and facilities that often use chemicals for cleaning. For indoor facilities or mainland areas without aggressive agents, galvanized enclosures are sufficient and more economical.
Although the shell is stainless steel, the screws, brackets and fasteners must also be stainless steel. If galvanized screws are used on the stainless steel shell, pitting corrosion will occur and the structure will become dirty.
Maintenance of stainless steel casing includes regular cleaning to remove salt deposits or chemical residues. Even stainless steel will suffer long-term surface degradation if it is not cleaned regularly.
FAQ
What is the difference between stainless steel shell and coil anticorrosion treatment? The shell protects the external structure; Treat the pipes and fins that cover the exchanger.
What stainless steel is recommended for coastal areas? Minimum AISI 304 For corrosive chemical environment, AISI 316 is recommended.
Will the stainless steel shell change the refrigeration performance of the condenser? No, it does not affect the heat exchange, and the size is the same as the standard model.
Which projects are worth investing in stainless steel shell? Coastal areas, fishing plants, meat and places with frequent chemical cleaning.
Do screws have to be stainless steel, too? Yes, galvanized screws cause electroplating corrosion on stainless steel plates.
