Choosing between electrolysis and D series hydrolysis is a key decision, which affects the energy consumption, operating cost and service life of air coolers installed in industrial freezing rooms.
Electric thawing system is the most widely used solution in the market. It works through an integrated resistor to generate heat to melt the frost accumulated on the wings. Its main advantage is that it is simple to install and does not need external water pipes or extra pipes to work. Its main disadvantage lies in more complicated installation: it requires water supply pipes, filters, extensive drainage systems and mandatory slopes. If the drainage is not correct, ice jam will occur, which may make the evaporator inoperable. It is not recommended for cameras with continuous temperature below-28 C.
D-series hydrolyzers can provide the best balance of operating costs for the middle greenhouse with high humidity between 0 °C and-10 C. Electrolysis is still the most reliable choice for super freezing rooms below-20 C or places without comfortable water supply.
When used in combination with FNH, FNV and FNVT capacitors, the thawing type will not change the power size of capacitors, because thawing is an intermittent process and will not add permanent heat load to the system.
Many projects have made mistakes, only choosing to unfreeze the initial price, without analyzing the power cost of 5-10 years of operation. In facilities that thaw more than 15 cycles per week, the additional investment can be recovered in about 2.5 years by water thawing.
