Daily Maintenance Tutorial for Refrigeration Units: Tips for Extending Equipment Operation Period
Refrigeration condensing units, air coolers, and condensers operate continuously for long periods, and dust, frost, and corrosive substances will continuously affect the heat exchange efficiency. If there is a lack of standardized daily maintenance, the equipment's energy consumption will increase year by year, the wear rate of core components will accelerate, and the overall service life of the equipment will be significantly shortened. Many maintenance personnel in cold storage and processing plants lack systematic maintenance knowledge and only conduct maintenance after equipment failure and shutdown. This results in higher maintenance costs. This article has compiled a complete set of standardized maintenance procedures.
1. Short-term daily inspection (executed weekly)
Check the dust accumulation on the fins of the air cooler and the surface of the condenser every week. Use high-pressure cold air to clean the dust to avoid blockage of the air ducts and affect heat dissipation. Check the operating noise and vibration amplitude of the unit. If there is abnormal vibration, promptly check the fixed brackets and fan bearings. Record the operating temperature and current data of the unit and compare them with standard parameters to detect potential heat exchange attenuation issues.
In high-humidity and chemical corrosion scenarios, check the rust coating on the unit's exterior shell every week. If it is damaged, promptly apply anti-corrosion materials for repair to prevent corrosive water vapor from contacting the internal pipelines. Short-term inspection is simple and can prevent 80% of common minor faults.
2. Mid-term deep maintenance (performed quarterly)
Each quarter, shut down the equipment for airtightness testing to check for any trace refrigerant leakage at the copper pipe welding points and pipe joints. Clear the water accumulation and debris at the bottom of the unit to prevent long-term rusting of the base. Check the lubrication level of the compressor oil, and add matching lubricating oil if insufficient. Calibrate the temperature control instrument to ensure that the temperature control accuracy meets the requirements of storage and production conditions.
Many enterprises neglect airtightness testing for a long time. As the refrigerant slowly leaks, the unit's refrigeration capacity continues to decrease. Under the same conditions, the compressor operates at a high load continuously, resulting in a 30% increase in energy consumption. The long-term operating cost significantly increases.
3. Annual comprehensive maintenance (operated during the off-season)
During the off-season of production, dismantle and perform deep maintenance on the equipment. Remove the bearing of the fan and add lubricating grease, replace the aging sealing gasket; comprehensively test over 200 performance indicators of the entire unit to verify its stability under high and low temperature loads; clean the dust inside the electrical control box and check for aging wiring and loose terminals to avoid circuit short-circuit shutdown risks.
Each unit of Snow Eagle Refrigeration produced comes with a complete maintenance manual, marking the maintenance items for each cycle and the replacement cycle of vulnerable parts. The condensing units, air coolers, and condensers produced by the enterprise have been optimized for corrosion resistance and high-temperature resistance, and are equipped with a standardized maintenance procedure, which can effectively delay the aging speed of components and meet the long-term continuous operation requirements of multiple scenarios such as food, medicine, agriculture, and chemicals. Overseas and domestic customers can simultaneously obtain standardized maintenance guidance materials.
4. Different scenarios have different maintenance key points
In food cold storage, focus on cleaning the oil stains on the fins to avoid oil stains reducing the heat exchange efficiency; in pharmaceutical storage equipment maintenance, keep it clean throughout the process to prevent dust from contaminating the stored materials; in chemical workshop equipment, increase the inspection frequency of the anti-corrosion coating; in agricultural greenhouses, shorten the dust cleaning cycle in the high-humidity environment. Adjust the maintenance frequency according to the usage scenario to maximize the extension of equipment service life. Summary
Standardized periodic maintenance can effectively reduce the energy consumption of refrigeration equipment, decrease the probability of equipment failure and downtime, and extend the overall service life of the equipment. Maintenance personnel for cold storages and processing plants follow a hierarchical maintenance process by week, quarter, and year. Combined with the maintenance guidance provided by the original manufacturers, this approach can significantly reduce the long-term maintenance costs of the equipment.
